KYC preparation

Georgia Bank KYC and Source-of-Funds Requirements

KYC is the centre of a non-resident application. We turn scattered documents into a clear explanation of identity, income, wealth, banking purpose and expected transactions.

What the bank is assessing

Know-your-customer review helps the bank understand the client and manage financial-crime, sanctions, tax and reputational risk. It is not a box-ticking exercise: the facts, evidence and proposed use must make sense together.

  • Identity, residence and tax status
  • Occupation, employer or business activity
  • Source of recurring income
  • Source of the specific funds to be deposited
  • Countries, counterparties and payment purpose
  • Sanctions, PEP and adverse-media exposure

Source of funds versus source of wealth

Source of funds explains the origin of a particular payment or account balance—for example salary or a property sale. Source of wealth explains how total wealth was accumulated over time. Higher values or complex structures may require both.

Build a consistent narrative

A good KYC explanation is specific and supported. Figures in the questionnaire should broadly reconcile with statements, contracts, tax returns and company records. If a fact looks inconsistent, explain it before the reviewer must guess.

Ongoing review

KYC continues after opening. Transactions outside the declared profile may trigger questions, holds or requests for updated evidence. Keep records for important transfers and update the bank when your residence, work or account purpose changes.

Clear answers.
No promises.

What is acceptable source-of-funds evidence?+

It depends on the source: statements and payslips for salary, invoices and tax filings for freelance income, or contracts and payment records for asset sales and dividends.

Can cryptocurrency income be accepted?+

It may require enhanced evidence of acquisition, trading history, wallet ownership, exchange records, taxes and conversion path. Acceptance is bank-specific.

What if my income is irregular?+

Irregular income is not automatically disqualifying, but it should be explained with contracts, invoices, statements and tax evidence.

Can BankAccount.ge guarantee approval?+

No. BankAccount.ge is an independent consultancy, not a bank. The bank alone applies its KYC policy and decides whether to approve an account or product.

Can requirements change after submission?+

Yes. A bank may request additional documents, explanations or an interview at any point, and its policies can change without notice.

Does a complete file guarantee success?+

No. Preparation improves clarity and avoids preventable gaps, but it does not remove the bank’s discretion or regulatory duties.
